ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA: Eisenhower East Small Area Plan 2019 Update Community Open House: 7 PM, 02/25/2019

Eisenhower East Small Area Plan 2019 Update

For Immediate Release: Monday, February 11, 2019

The City of Alexandria is launching the community process to update the Eisenhower East Small Area Plan with a Community Open House on Monday, February 25 from 7-9 p.m. in the lobby of the Parc Meridian, 750 Port Street. The open house will provide members of the public with an opportunity to learn about the planning process and topics that will be considered.

Given the City's unchanged goal for Eisenhower East to remain one of the city's key economic development engines, and recognizing that market conditions, particularly for retail and office uses, have significantly changed since 2003, this update will consider enhanced flexibility of land uses, building heights, and potential additional development, as well as build on or enhance the Plan’s existing goals for thriving retail and entertainment, a balance of residents and employees for a busy 18-hour environment, expanded mobility and connectivity, enhanced pedestrian safety and accessibility, and a network of connected, multi-functional open spaces and trails for all to enjoy.

Visit alexandriava.gov/92700 for background information, meeting materials and updates throughout this planning process. Questions? Contact Jose C. Ayala, jose.ayala@alexandriava.gov, 703.746.3820.

The City of Alexandria is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended. To request a reasonable accommodation, e-mail graciela.moreno@alexandriava.gov or call 703.746.3808, Virginia Relay 711.
